Are you launching a new business line or expanding into a new area? Are you creating a new technology and have to explain in detail to new employees their steps to better interact with customers?
When planning a new business line, you typically need to create a process framework, a skeleton of operations on which the organization will operate. The days of department-based structures are long gone, irrevocably, the most competitive companies use business processes as a basis.
This becomes especially important if your plans are absolutely innovative business, which parallels to none.
A task of designing and building new processes is much more difficult than describing and optimizing existing ones.
- First, as a rule, the process itself and its executors are absent, so there is just nobody to ask how they run or could run.
- Secondly, it is difficult to say from what parts it should consist to get the expected result, especially if the technology is still in the process of creation or configuration.
- Thirdly, there are many ways of doing it and it is not at all obvious which one will be an optimal.
Nevertheless, I have experience of designing not only new business processes, but entire management systems based on them for innovative businesses that had no analogues in Russia and the CIS.
