What did the client want:
To become the distinguished leader in the segment against the background of economic and particular the industry slowdown
Taking the leading position in the segment, against the background of the overall slowdown in the economy as a whole and the industry in particular, created new challenges for a steadily developing business.
One of the goals of the shareholders was to bring the company to the international level. In order to achieve this goal, among other things, it was necessary to develop a business strategy.
The project analysed the external and internal environment to identify potential growth points. Macroeconomic analysis of the industry on a global scale was also carried out, which helped to identify trends and formulate uncertainties. The analysis was used to build scenarios for the development of the situation and identify strategic challenges for business at a new level.
On the basis of core competencies, trends in the industry and shareholders ambitions the strategic goals and initiatives were formulated as well a strategy for achieving the goals was found. On the basis of the formulated strategy, the positions for the future branch offices (regional and international) were determined and the company’s structure was modelled in the dynamics of ten years. For each branch office the requirements were formulated on the basis of the business strategy.
The project challenges:
Client’s business was project-based. On the horizon for more than 2.5-3 years there was no possibility even to guess what projects will be initiated by customers. In addition, the company had a very patchwork, contradictory and chaotic picture about competitors and rivalry.
A business strategy with a five year horizon was found and formulated. The strategy has been approved by the shareholders and adopted by the management as a basis for long-term business development. In addition, the developed strategy mobilized the company’s management to generate innovative ideas for existing and related businesses, which laid the foundation for the future growth potential.
